HOT FIREPol® DNA Polymerase

A hot-start DNA Polymerase from Solis BioDyne, designed to improve specificity and accuracy in routine PCR applications. The enzyme is a chemically modified version of FIREPol® DNA Polymerase that is inactive at room temperature and is activated by an initial incubation at 95°C for 12–15 min, minimising mispriming, non-specific primer annealing and primer-dimer formation.

It is recommended for amplifying fragments up to 3 kb from genomic DNA. The enzyme possesses 5′→3′ polymerase and 5′→3′ exonuclease activity, as well as a non-template-dependent terminal transferase activity, but lacks a 3′→5′ exonuclease (proofreading) activity, making the generated products suitable for TA-cloning. Its fidelity is comparable to that of Taq DNA Polymerase, with an error rate of approximately 2.5 × 10⁻⁵ per nucleotide.

The product is manufactured by Solis BioDyne under an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified Quality Management System. For routine storage it is kept at –20°C (–28°C to –18°C) until the expiry date. The enzyme is stable at 4°C (2°C to 8°C) for 6 months, at room temperature (25°C) for 1 month, and tolerates up to 30 freeze-thaw cycles. Shipping is at room temperature.
