Description

Solis BioDyne's FIREScript® RT cDNA synthesis MIX with Random primers is a ready-to-use three-tube formulation designed for first-strand cDNA synthesis from total RNA or purified mRNA. It supplies a FIREScript® enzyme mix that combines FIREScript RT with the RiboGrip™ RNase Inhibitor, a 10x RT Reaction Premix with Random primers (containing DTT and dNTPs), and nuclease-free water. The enzyme is a genetically modified MMLV-based reverse transcriptase with full RNase H activity and a patented Stability TAG that delivers exceptional stability at room temperature.

Working between 37°C and 60°C, with an optimum at 50°C, the reverse transcriptase accepts oligo (dT), random, and gene-specific primers. Reported reaction times range from 5 to 30 minutes, and the enzyme can transcribe RNA sequences of up to 8.9 kb while generating full-length cDNA of at least 8 kb. According to manufacturer data the enzyme has been shown to detect total RNA amounts down to 0.01 ng, and the reagent is stable at room temperature for 30 days with no loss of activity, allowing reaction setup and shipping on the bench without ice. The product is shipped at room temperature; routine storage is at –20°C, with additional stability at 4°C (2°C to 8°C) for 6 months, at room temperature (15–25°C) for 1 month, and through 30 freeze-thaw cycles.

Typical applications include gene expression analysis, disease diagnosis, genomic analysis, and structural studies of mRNA. The product is manufactured by Solis BioDyne under an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified Quality Management System and is supplied for research use only.
