FIREScript® RT cDNA synthesis KIT (50 rxn)

From Solis BioDyne, this cDNA synthesis kit supplies a genetically engineered Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus (M-MLV) based reverse transcriptase designed for first strand cDNA synthesis from total RNA or purified mRNA. The enzyme exhibits enhanced thermostability, substantially faster synthesis rates, and higher sensitivity compared with the wild-type M-MLV reverse transcriptase, and retains full RNase H activity. The kit format provides all reagents in seven separate vials, including FIREScript Reverse Transcriptase, RiboGrip RNase Inhibitor, 10x RT Reaction Buffer with DTT, dNTP mix, Oligo (dT) Primer, Random Primers, and nuclease-free water.

The enzyme is active over a broad reaction temperature range of 37°C to 60°C and is compatible with oligo-dT, random, and gene-specific primers. Complete cDNA synthesis can be performed in 15 minutes, with detection of total RNA amounts from 0.01 ng and generation of full-length cDNA of at least 8 kb. For templates longer than 5 kb, the manufacturer recommends reaction temperatures of 37–50°C and extended incubation times of 30–60 minutes to increase yield.

A proprietary stability tag allows the reagents to remain stable at room temperature for 30 days, supporting shipping and field work without ice. Quality control testing confirms the enzyme is free of endo- and exodeoxyribonucleases, phosphatases, and ribonucleases, and shows greater than 98% purity by SDS/PAGE as a 74 kD monomer. Applications include first-strand cDNA synthesis for two-step RT-PCR and RT-qPCR.
