FIREScript® RT cDNA synthesis KIT (200 rxn)

Designed for first-strand cDNA synthesis in two-step RT-PCR and RT-qPCR workflows, this kit from Solis BioDyne is built around a genetically engineered MMLV-based reverse transcriptase. The enzyme is active over a broad reaction temperature range of 37-60°C, enabling reverse transcription at elevated temperatures to reduce the effects of RNA secondary structure and improve specificity when using gene-specific primers. It is compatible with oligo(dT), random, and gene-specific primers.

Key performance features include complete cDNA synthesis in 15 minutes, the ability to detect total RNA amounts as low as 0.01 ng, and generation of full-length cDNA of at least 8 kb. The enzyme retains full RNase H activity, which can increase the sensitivity of downstream RT-qPCR. For templates longer than 5 kb, the manufacturer recommends performing reverse transcription at 37°C for 30 min. The FIREScript® RT cDNA synthesis KIT is stable at room temperature for 30 days without activity loss, and tolerates up to 30 freeze-thaw cycles, making it suitable for field work and high-throughput screening. Routine storage is at -20°C.

The kit format supplies all reagents needed for cDNA synthesis in 7 separate vials. A recommended 20 µl reaction includes the reverse transcriptase, a RiboGrip RNase inhibitor, 10x RT reaction buffer with DTT, oligo(dT) primer, random primers, dNTP mix, and nuclease-free water.
