STEMCELL Technologies offers this rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa isotype control antibody (Clone RTK2758), supplied in unconjugated format. The clone has been verified for use as an isotype-matched control antibody for assessing non-specific binding to cells in flow cytometry applications, and is suitable for estimating the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody. The antibody recognizes keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) and has unknown binding specificity, having been screened on a variety of activated, resting, live, and fixed tissues from several species, including mouse, rat, human, and non-human primates.

Reported applications include flow cytometry (FC, verified), functional assay (FA), immunocytochemistry (ICC), immunofluorescence microscopy (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunoprecipitation (IP), and Western blotting (WB). The antibody is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide, at 0.5 mg/mL, and has been purified by affinity chromatography. The immunogen is trinitrophenol conjugated to KLH.

For stability, the product should be stored undiluted at 2 - 8°C and should not be frozen. The suggested use is at concentrations comparable to those of the specific antibody of interest.
