Description
From STEMCELL Technologies, this monoclonal antibody (clone C6D5.1.1) is raised in mouse (BALB/c) and is of the IgG1 isotype. It reacts with biotin, also known as coenzyme R, vitamin B7, or vitamin H, and is supplied unconjugated, allowing compatibility with the detection system of choice.
The antibody was generated using biotin conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin as the immunogen and purified by affinity chromatography. It is formulated in phosphate-buffered saline. For storage, the product remains stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen; addition of 0.1% sodium azide (final) is recommended once the vial has been opened.
The reagent has been verified for cell separation and is reported for cell separation, cross-linking, and ELISA applications. The manufacturer indicates it can be used to cross-link biotinylated molecules as an alternative to streptavidin or avidin, potentially reducing non-specific binding. The Safety Data Sheet classifies the product as not hazardous per the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), with a clear liquid appearance and no available odor data.
