Anti-GFAP, 2E1.E9, 100µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this monoclonal antibody (clone 2E1.E9) is specific for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), a marker expressed primarily by astrocytes. The reagent may be used to distinguish astrocytes from other glial cells in research samples.

It is suitable for immunocytochemistry (ICC), immunohistochemistry (IHC), flow cytometry, and western blotting. Representative applications shown in the product literature include flow cytometry analysis of Sprague-Dawley rat brain cells, western blot analysis of denatured/reduced Sprague-Dawley rat brain lysate with HT1080 fibrosarcoma cells as a negative control, and labelling of embryonic mouse cortical tissue cultured with the NeuroCult™ Proliferation Kit (Mouse). A mouse monoclonal IgG2b, kappa isotype control antibody is referenced for use alongside the reagent.

According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, the product is a clear liquid classified as a laboratory reagent and is not considered hazardous under the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) or the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200). Researchers are advised to validate and optimize antibody dilution and detection method for their specific experimental system.
