Rt IgG2a,k Ctrl, RTK2758, UC, 50µg

The RTK2758 clone (rat IgG2a, kappa) is an isotype-matched control antibody offered by STEMCELL Technologies. According to the manufacturer, it is suitable for use as an isotype control to estimate the degree of non-specific binding by an antigen-specific antibody; ideally the isotype control shares the same heavy chain subclass (IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, or IgM) and light chain (kappa or lambda) with the specific antibody being employed, and when a conjugated antibody is used the isotype control should be matched to the same molecule, such as a fluorochrome. Use of an appropriate isotype control helps confirm the specificity of the antigen-specific antibody and indicates non-specific binding that may result from interactions with Fc receptors or other cell components.

This antibody clone has been verified for use as an isotype control for assessing non-specific binding to cells in applications such as flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy, including both surface and intracellular staining.
