RosetteSep CTC Enrich w/ CD56, 2 mL

From STEMCELL Technologies, this immunodensity negative selection cocktail enables one-step enrichment of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) directly from human whole blood. Unwanted cells are crosslinked to red blood cells (RBCs) present in the sample, and CTCs are enriched during standard density gradient centrifugation, reducing sample handling time and eliminating the need for additional equipment.

The Anti-CD56 cocktail is recommended for the enrichment of CTCs from whole blood or buffy coat by depleting hematopoietic cells expressing CD3, CD14, CD16, CD19, CD38, CD45, CD56, CD61, and CD66b. It is compatible for use with breast cancer samples, but is not suitable for use with small-cell carcinoma samples, as CD56 has been shown to be expressed on small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and pancreatic carcinoma samples. Typically 3.2 to 4.4 log depletion of targeted CD45+ cells is attained, and the enriched CTCs are untouched and immediately ready for downstream applications including cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation for genetic analyses, and further purification using microfluidics.

The workflow can be combined with SepMate™, a specialized isolation tube that standardizes and minimizes variability when isolating cells using density gradient centrifugation.
