ErythroClear RBC Depletion Kit

A red blood cell depletion kit from STEMCELL Technologies that removes enucleated erythrocytes from single-cell suspensions while preserving leukocytes and other nucleated populations for downstream analysis. The kit uses antibody-based negative selection to label erythrocytes, which are then separated away from the desired cells in a magnetic column. Compatible starting materials include fresh or previously frozen whole blood, buffy coat preparations, cord blood, bone marrow aspirates, and dissociated spleen or lymphoid tissue. A standard processing volume is roughly 1-2 mL of whole blood per depletion.

Typical workflows include sample preparation for multicolor flow cytometry panels, single-cell RNA sequencing, downstream cell culture of mononuclear populations, and functional immunology assays where residual erythrocytes would otherwise complicate scatter gating or clog microfluidic channels. Each kit supplies the antibody cocktail, magnetic particles in a vial, and buffer suitable for processing multiple samples, and the depletion step finishes at room temperature in under 30 minutes. Depleted samples are also compatible with subsequent positive selection kits for specific immune cell subsets. The antibody cocktail and magnetic particles should be stored refrigerated to preserve reagent activity over the shelf life of the product.
