Hematopoietic progenitor enrichment from bone marrow starts with a negative-selection step that leaves stem and progenitor populations untouched by surface-bound antibodies. STEMCELL Technologies' tetrameric antibody complexes crosslink unwanted mature hematopoietic cells to red blood cells via glycophorin A, forming dense rosettes that pellet through a buoyant density medium. The desired CD34+ and colony-forming populations remain suspended in the upper plasma layer, recovered without columns or magnets and ready for downstream cell culture, transplantation studies, or in vitro assays. Each single-use vial is formulated for processing approximately 50 mL of bone marrow, and the tetramer complexes require refrigerated storage to maintain activity through the labeled shelf life.
