A kit from STEMCELL Technologies enables the isolation of highly purified human CD14+ cells from buffy coat or an LRS cone using column-free immunomagnetic separation. The kit's protocols have been trusted by scientists for over 20 years and are also compatible with a fully automated cell separation instrument capable of performing up to four simultaneous or sequential cell separations.

When starting with buffy coat, the CD14+ cell content of the isolated fraction is typically 93.0 ± 6.4% (mean ± SD using "The Big Easy" EasySep™ Magnet). In a representative example, the purities of the start and final isolated fractions were 8.9% and 98.4%, respectively. The manufacturer indicates the kit is designed for use in research areas that involve workflows such as immunomagnetic positive selection of human CD3+ cells from whole blood and buffy coat, human CD19+ cells from whole blood, and human CD33+ and CD66+ myeloid cells.
