From STEMCELL Technologies, the EasySep™ Mouse Biotin Positive Selection Kit II is a column-free immunomagnetic positive selection kit designed to isolate highly purified mouse cells labeled with biotinylated antibodies. Antibody complexes recognize biotin on the target cells together with dextran-coated magnetic particles, allowing the labeled cells to be separated using an EasySep™ magnet without the use of columns. In a manufacturer example using mouse splenocytes with a biotinylated anti-mouse CD4 antibody, the starting fraction purity was 20.5% and the final isolated fraction purity was 97.5%.

The kit can be used with mouse splenocytes, bone marrow, and other single-cell suspensions, and is suited for isolating a range of cell populations including B cells, dendritic cells, granulocytes and subsets, hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, macrophages, marrow stromal cells, mesenchymal stem and progenitor cells, monocytes, mononuclear cells, myeloid cells, NK cells, plasma cells, and T cells. The procedure is described by the supplier as fast and easy-to-use: cells of interest remain in the tube while unwanted cells are poured off.

Compatible magnets include the EasySep™ Magnet, the "Big Easy" EasySep™ Magnet, the EasyEights™ EasySep™ Magnet, and the RoboSep™-S automated cell separator. The kit replaces an earlier EasySep™ Mouse Biotin Positive Selection Kit, and the supplier suggests a related EasySep™ Release Mouse Biotin Positive Selection Kit for applications requiring highly purified particle-free cells.
