RoboSep Hu WB&BM CD138 Pos Sel Kit II

An immunomagnetic positive selection kit from STEMCELL Technologies isolates highly purified CD138+ (syndecan-1) cells from fresh human whole blood or bone marrow. Designed for processing 60 mL of whole blood or bone marrow, this column-free procedure uses monoclonal antibody complexes and dextran-coated magnetic particles to label desired cells, which are then separated using an EasySep™ magnet by pouring or pipetting off unwanted cells.

The CD138 antigen is expressed on normal and malignant plasma cells, and the kit is suited to downstream uses including fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), flow cytometry, culture, and DNA/RNA extraction. Starting with fresh whole blood spiked with the multiple myeloma cell line U266, the CD138+ cell content of the selected fraction typically ranges from 83.7 - 98.3%. The kit is compatible with the "The Big Easy" EasySep™ Magnet, the EasyEights™ EasySep™ Magnet, and the RoboSep™-S fully automated instrument.

Kit components include a positive selection cocktail that also includes an Fc receptor blocking antibody, dextran-coated RapidSpheres™ magnetic particles, and a 10X concentrated red blood cell lysis buffer. The selection cocktail and magnetic particles are stored at 2 - 8°C, while the lysis buffer concentrate is stored at 15 - 25°C.
