Designed for skeletal muscle research, this kit from STEMCELL Technologies enables robust in vitro differentiation of human myogenic progenitors into mature, multinucleated myotubes. It is intended for use with myoblasts expanded in MyoCult Expansion Medium (Human), providing a defined workflow that supports terminal myogenic commitment and fusion of satellite cell-derived cultures.

Key applications include modeling muscle development, studying Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders, investigating age-related muscle wasting (sarcopenia), and screening compounds for myogenic activity. Researchers also use it for regenerative medicine studies, including co-culture with motor neurons and engineered tissue platforms.

The MyoCult Differentiation Kit (Human) contains a low-serum differentiation medium and a cell dissociation solution, supplied in single-use bottles and vials suitable for routine cell culture workflows. Typical working volumes are 500 µL to 2 mL per well in standard culture formats, with differentiation proceeding over 5 to 7 days to yield contractile myotubes expressing myosin heavy chain and other maturation markers.

Intended for research use only, components are stored at -20°C for long-term stability, with working aliquots used immediately after thawing. The system is validated for myogenic cells derived from fresh or cryopreserved human primary tissue and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
