MesenCult Expansion Kit (Mouse)

Expand mouse mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) in a defined, serum-free culture system from STEMCELL Technologies. This kit is purpose-built for in vitro propagation of bone marrow-derived MSCs, supporting robust proliferation while preserving multipotency and the undifferentiated phenotype across multiple passages.

The system pairs a xeno-free basal medium with a targeted supplement, working alongside the separately sold MesenCult Attachment Substrate to give mouse MSCs an adherent surface that supports colony formation and clonal outgrowth. Cultures retain tri-lineage differentiation potential toward osteogenic, adipogenic, and chondrogenic lineages when later switched into appropriate differentiation media.

A typical workflow starts with freshly isolated mouse bone marrow or compact bone-derived MSCs plated onto Attachment Substrate-coated wells; expansion medium is refreshed every 2 to 3 days, and cells reach approximately 70 to 80% confluence within roughly 7 to 10 days before subculture or downstream assay. The kit is supplied as a 500 mL basal medium bottle plus a 50 mL supplement bottle, providing enough reagent for the equivalent of several T75 flasks when used at standard volumes.

For research use only; store refrigerated upon arrival, with the supplement stable through several freeze-thaw cycles once thawed. The format supports laboratories running musculoskeletal, hematopoietic niche, or regenerative medicine studies where defined, xeno-free conditions are required to keep mouse MSC populations free of lot-to-lot serum variability.
