Magnetic cell isolation from mouse tissue samples is straightforward with this biotin-based positive selection kit from STEMCELL Technologies, which uses streptavidin-coated magnetic particles to enrich target cell populations in a column-free workflow. Researchers combine a biotinylated antibody against the surface antigen of interest with the kit's RapidSpheres reagent, creating magnetically labeled cells that can be separated using the EasySep magnet. The isolated cells are poured off into a clean tube, retaining viability and unaltered surface markers.

This Sample Size format supports low-throughput work such as pilot enrichment studies, troubleshooting novel antibody panels, or processing samples from limited mouse cohorts. Compatible input materials include mouse splenocytes, lymph node cells, bone marrow preparations, and peripheral blood, giving flexibility across immunology, hematology, transplantation, and cancer research workflows.

Because the procedure is column-free and avoids harsh lysis, the enriched cells remain usable for downstream flow cytometry analysis, in vitro cell culture, RNA extraction, and adoptive transfer into mouse models. A typical tube-based separation completes in roughly 30 to 45 minutes at the bench, with hands-on time of only a few minutes after the initial antibody incubation.

Kit components should be refrigerated and protected from light, and reagents remain stable through the labeled shelf life when stored under the conditions specified in the product insert. Refer to the enclosed manual for antibody compatibility notes, expected yields for common mouse cell types, and recommended sample volumes per separation.
