The EasySep Anti-Rat IgM Positive Selection Kit from STEMCELL Technologies delivers fast, column-free immunomagnetic isolation of IgM-bearing B lymphocytes from rat single-cell suspensions, supporting immunology research in rodent models of infection, vaccination, transplantation, and autoimmunity.

Rat lymphoid cells are labeled with a cocktail of monoclonal antibodies specific for the surface immunoglobulin M heavy chain, then mixed with EasySep magnetic particles. The tube is placed inside an EasySep magnet for a brief separation step; unlabeled cells are decanted while IgM-positive B cells are retained in the tube, yielding an enriched population without the need for density gradients, columns, or specialized instruments.

Key practical attributes: the workflow is performed in a single tube, completes in roughly 25 to 30 minutes of hands-on time, and does not activate the isolated B cells, preserving surface marker expression for downstream phenotyping. Compatible starting material includes splenocytes, lymph node cells, bone marrow suspensions, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated from rats.

Isolated cells are immediately compatible with flow cytometry staining panels, in vitro stimulation assays, cell culture expansion, adoptive transfer studies, and immunoglobulin repertoire analysis. The selection cocktail and magnetic particles are supplied in single-use vials; reconstituted reagents are stored at 2 to 8 degrees C and used within the stability window indicated on the product insert.

This kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Researchers working on rat B cell ontogeny, germinal center biology, antibody-secreting cell differentiation, or antigen-specific response profiling can pair this positive selection step with downstream sequencing, ELISA quantification of secreted antibodies, or functional readouts.
