Methylcellulose-based and semi-solid, this selection system from STEMCELL Technologies enables single-cell cloning of mammalian cells that carry a hygromycin resistance gene. The viscous matrix combined with hygromycin B allows individual resistant cells to proliferate into discrete, well-separated colonies that can be picked and expanded into clonal cell lines used in stable cell line construction.

The ClonaCell-TCS/Hygro Kit is for research use only. The system supports cell line development for CHO and HEK293 workflows as well as hybridoma generation. The semi-solid format eliminates the need for limiting dilution, ensuring that each colony is derived from a single progenitor cell.

Supplied in vials containing pre-measured components, the kit includes the methylcellulose base and selection supplement. Store the methylcellulose base frozen at -20°C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting working volumes on first use.
