Description

This polyclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets SHIP2, also known as Inositol polyphosphate phosphatase like 1 (INPPL1) or OPSMD. SHIP2 is a 145 kDa SHIP-related protein expressed in both hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, where it acts as a negative regulator of the PI3K pathway by hydrolyzing the PI3K-generated second messenger PIP3.

The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against an 18-amino acid peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human SHIP2 and reacts with full-length 145 kDa SHIP2 protein from mouse and human samples (Gene IDs 3636 for human and 16332 for mouse). Western blotting (WB) is a verified application, with immunoprecipitation (IP) also reported. Suggested starting conditions are 4 µL of antibody in 500 µL of cell lysate from 1 x 10^6 cells for IP, and a 1:1000 dilution for WB.

The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and is supplied in phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.4) containing 0.01% bovine serum albumin, 0.05% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. The product remains stable at -20 °C when stored undiluted. Validation data show western blot analysis of total cell lysates from human TF-1 cells, mouse WEHI-231 B cells, and mouse bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMCs) from SHIP +/+ and SHIP -/- mice using a 1:1000 dilution, with a band observed at the predicted 145 kDa molecular mass.
