Description

A mouse primary antibody supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, clone OX-7 reacts with rat CD90 (Thy-1) and mouse CD90.1 (Thy-1.1), the latter being an allelic form of CD90 expressed by the mouse strains AKR/J, PL, and FVB/N. The clone does not react with CD90.2, which is expressed by many mouse strains, including CBA and BALB/c. CD90 is described as a GPI-linked membrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, with a 25 kDa core protein that is N-glycosylated at three sites, giving rise to molecules of 25 - 37 kDa. In the rat, CD90 is expressed by hematopoietic stem cells, immature B cells, thymocytes, and neurons; in mouse strains expressing CD90.1, it is found on early-stage hematopoietic cells in the bone marrow, thymocytes, and circulating mature T cells. The OX-7 antibody has been reported to induce leukocyte activation, glomerular nephritis, apoptosis in glomerular mesangial cells, and vascular permeability, and has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated from compatible mouse strains with EasySep kits.

This reagent is biotin-conjugated, of mouse host origin, and of IgG1, kappa isotype. Listed reactive species are guinea pig, mouse, rabbit, and rat, with T cells as the indicated cell type. Reported applications include flow cytometry, functional assays, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blot. The target antigen is CD90/CD90.1, with Gene ID 21838/24832.

The manufacturer's safety data sheet describes the product as a clear liquid that is not classified as hazardous under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) and is stated to be stable under recommended transport or storage conditions. STEMCELL Technologies Canada Inc. is identified as the supplier, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
