Rat monoclonal IgM antibody against human, mouse, rat, and rhesus SSEA-3, PE-conjugated, manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies. The antibody, designated as clone MC-631, targets the stage-specific embryonic antigen-3 (SSEA-3) on a galactosylgloboside epitope.

According to the manufacturer's description, this reagent reacts with SSEA-3 expressed on the surface of human embryonal carcinoma (EC), embryonic germ (EG), undifferentiated embryonic stem (ES), and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, as well as rhesus monkey ES cell lines. No immunoreactivity is evident with undifferentiated mouse EC, EG, and ES cells. SSEA-3 expression is downregulated following differentiation of ES and EC cells, whereas differentiation of mouse ES and EC cells may be accompanied by an increase in SSEA-3 expression.

The antibody is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin. It was generated in Rat (F344) hosts using four- to eight-cell stage mouse embryos as the immunogen, purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated with PE under optimal conditions, with the solution free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody. The product is verified for flow cytometry (FC), with a suggested use of 5 µL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 µL volume or per 100 µL of whole blood; titration is recommended for optimal performance in each application. It should be stored at 2 - 8°C undiluted, protected from prolonged exposure to light, and not frozen.
