Anti-Ms SSEA-1, MC-480, AD, 25tests

A mouse monoclonal IgM antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone MC-480, conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, targets stage-specific embryonic antigen-1 (SSEA-1), also designated CD15 and known by the alternative names 3-FAL, Lewis X, SSEA1, X-hapten, and Stage-specific embryonic antigen 1. The reagent recognizes a terminal carbohydrate epitope carried on a large-molecular-mass (> 200 kDa) glycoprotein on the surface of early mouse embryos, mouse embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells, embryonic stem (ES) cells, and mouse and human embryonic germ (EG) cells. It also labels adult human granulocytes and monocytes. SSEA-1 is not expressed on undifferentiated human EC, ES or induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, nor on rhesus monkey ES cell lines; expression on mouse ES cells decreases upon differentiation, whereas in humans it is upregulated during differentiation. The antigen has been reported to play roles in cell adhesion, migration, and regulation of cell differentiation.

The antibody was raised against X-irradiated mouse F9 teratocarcinoma cells, is of the IgM, kappa isotype, and reacts with human, mouse, and rat cells. Verified and reported applications are flow cytometry (FC), with a suggested use of 5 μL per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume or per 100 μL of whole blood, and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) at a 100X dilution. It is supplied in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, conjugated to > 85% purity and free of unconjugated Alexa Fluor® 488. The product is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted, should not be frozen, and must be protected from prolonged exposure to light.
