Anti-Ms SSEA-1 (CD15), MC-480, FI, 25t

From STEMCELL Technologies, this FITC-conjugated monoclonal antibody (Clone MC-480) is an anti-mouse reagent that recognizes the terminal carbohydrate epitope stage-specific embryonic antigen-1 (SSEA-1), also designated CD15. It is intended for use as a laboratory reagent in flow cytometry (FC) applications.

The MC-480 clone labels SSEA-1, a marker that is highly expressed on adult human granulocytes and monocytes, where it is denoted CD15. The same antigen is also expressed on early mouse embryos, mouse embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells, mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells, and mouse and human embryonic germ (EG) cells. By contrast, SSEA-1 is reported not to be expressed on undifferentiated human EC, ES, or induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, or on rhesus monkey ES cell lines. The antigen has been reported to play roles in cell adhesion and migration and in the regulation of cell differentiation.
