Anti-Ms IFN-gamma, XMG1.2, PE, 100µg

This rat monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone XMG1.2, is conjugated to PE (phycoerythrin) and reacts with mouse interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). It is a monoclonal IgG1, kappa antibody raised against mouse recombinant IFN-γ expressed in E. coli, with species reactivity confirmed for mouse.

The antibody targets IFN-γ, a glycosylated type II interferon that functions as a homodimer of ~20 kDa subunits. IFN-γ is produced primarily by activated T lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells in response to antigens, and binds the α subunit of the IFN-γ receptor to drive assembly of a tetrameric α2β2 receptor complex and activate the JAK-STAT signalling pathway. The cytokine supports macrophage activation, immune defence against viruses and bacteria, and modulates cellular proliferation and apoptosis. The reagent is verified for flow cytometry and is also widely used to neutralise IFN-γ functional activity. For flow cytometry, a suggested use is ≤ 0.125 μg per 1 × 10⁶ cells in 100 μL, with titration recommended for each application.

The product is supplied as a clear liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin. It is purified by affinity chromatography and is free of unconjugated PE. Store undiluted at 2 – 8 °C; do not freeze and protect from prolonged exposure to light. The mixture is not classified as hazardous under GHS, and the product is intended for research use only.
