Anti-Ms F4/80, BM8, PE, 100µg

This PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone BM8, recognizes the F4/80 antigen, a marker commonly used to identify mature tissue macrophages. The BM8 clone reacts with an approximately 160 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the EGF-TM7 family of G-protein-coupled receptors, also termed Ly-71 in mouse and EMR-1 in human. F4/80 is broadly but variably expressed by mature macrophages in the liver (Kupffer cells), skin (Langerhans cells), bone marrow stroma, pancreas, thymus, spleen (red pulp), lung, and other tissues, and is also expressed by circulating monocytes, eosinophils, and a subset of dendritic cells; expression levels reportedly increase following macrophage activation.

The reagent is a rat IgG2a, kappa antibody with confirmed reactivity to human and mouse. Manufacturer documentation demonstrates its use in flow cytometry workflows with C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow cells, and the clone is described as suitable for cell isolation. The product is supplied as a clear liquid and is intended for research use only, not for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic uses unless otherwise stated. It is manufactured under a quality management system certified to ISO 13485. The antibody is stable at 2–8°C when stored undiluted, and should not be frozen.
