Anti-Ms F4/80, BM8, BT, 50µg

This rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets the mouse F4/80 antigen, also termed Ly-71. The BM8 clone was raised against murine (BALB/c) macrophages obtained from 14-day-old bone marrow cell cultures and is supplied in a biotin-conjugated format.

The antibody recognizes an ~160 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the EGF-TM7 family of G-protein-coupled receptors. F4/80 is considered a marker of choice for identifying mature tissue macrophages, being broadly but variably expressed in the liver (Kupffer cells), skin (Langerhans cells), bone marrow stroma, pancreas, thymus, spleen (red pulp), lung, and other tissues. It is also expressed by circulating monocytes, eosinophils, and a subset of dendritic cells, with expression levels increasing following macrophage activation.

Verified applications include cell separation (CellSep), flow cytometry (FC), immunocytochemistry (ICC), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and Western blotting (WB). The clone has been used for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Mouse Monocyte Isolation Kit and the EasySep™ Mouse CD11b Positive Selection Kit. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume. The product is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide, purified by affinity chromatography, and supplied free of unconjugated biotin. It is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted (do not freeze). For research use only; not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
