Anti-Ms F4/80, BM8, AD, 100µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated reagent is a rat monoclonal antibody (clone BM8, IgG2a, kappa) directed against the F4/80 antigen — also termed Ly-71 in mouse and EMR-1 in human — an ~160 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein of the EGF-TM7 family of G-protein-coupled receptors. F4/80 is described as a marker of choice for identifying mature tissue macrophages and is broadly expressed on Kupffer cells of the liver, Langerhans cells of the skin, and macrophages within bone marrow stroma, pancreas, thymus, spleen red pulp, and lung; it is also detected on circulating monocytes, eosinophils, and a subset of dendritic cells, with expression rising upon macrophage activation.

Clone BM8 has been verified for flow cytometry, with reported applications including ELISA, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence microscopy, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blotting under non-reducing conditions. The antibody was raised against murine (BALB/c) macrophages obtained from 14-day-old bone marrow cell cultures and purified by affinity chromatography, and it is supplied as a clear liquid in a phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide. For product stability it should be stored undiluted at 2 – 8 °C and not frozen; the manufacturer suggests using ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 × 10⁶ cells in 100 μL for flow cytometry, with titration recommended to optimize performance for each application.
