Anti-Ms CD90.2, 53-2.1, FI, 50µg

A FITC-conjugated rat monoclonal antibody (clone 53-2.1) from STEMCELL Technologies specifically targets mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), an ~25–35 kDa glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein. The antibody is of the IgG2a, kappa isotype, raised in Rat (LOU) hosts against mouse thymus or spleen cells, and conjugated to FITC (Fluorescein isothiocyanate). It does not react with CD90.1/Thy-1.1 or with rat CD90, and recognizes the allelic form expressed by mouse strains including BALB/c, C3H/He, C57BL/6, CBA/J, DBA, and SJL.

CD90.2 is expressed at high levels on thymocytes, most peripheral T cells, and lymphatic endothelial cells, and at lower levels on hematopoietic stem cells, some intraepithelial T lymphocytes, fibroblasts, and neurons. The antigen has been shown to play roles in costimulation of lymphocyte proliferation, hematopoietic stem cell differentiation, and thymocyte adhesion. The 53-2.1 clone reportedly blocks binding of antibody clone 30-H12.

The antibody is supplied at 0.5 mg/mL in a phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, and has been purified by column chromatography. It is verified for flow cytometry and reported for use in immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, with titration recommended for each application. The product has also been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated using EasySep Mouse T Cell, CD4+ T Cell, and CD8+ T Cell Isolation Kits. Store undiluted at 2–8°C, protected from prolonged exposure to light; do not freeze.
