Anti-Ms CD90.2, 53-2.1, BT, 50µg

A biotin-conjugated rat monoclonal antibody (IgG2a, kappa) from STEMCELL Technologies, clone 53-2.1, directed against mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2). The target is an ~25–35 kDa glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein expressed at high levels on thymocytes, most peripheral T cells and lymphatic endothelial cells, and at lower levels on hematopoietic stem cells, some intraepithelial T lymphocytes, fibroblasts and neurons. CD90.2 is an allelic form of the CD90 antigen expressed by mouse strains including BALB/c, C3H/He, C57BL/6, CBA/J, DBA and SJL; the antibody does not react with CD90.1, which is expressed by strains such as AKR/J, PL and FVB/N, or with rat CD90. CD90.2 has been shown to be involved in costimulation of lymphocyte proliferation, hematopoietic stem cell differentiation and thymocyte adhesion, and the 53-2.1 clone reportedly blocks the binding of antibody clone 30-H12. Alternative names for the target include T25, Thy 1b and Thymus cell antigen 1 theta.

The reagent is formulated in an aqueous buffer containing 0.09% sodium azide and was purified by column chromatography. Flow cytometry (FC) is a verified application; FC, immunofluorescence microscopy (IF) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) are reported applications. The antibody has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with STEMCELL Technologies EasySep™ kits, including the mouse T cell, CD4+ T cell and CD8+ T cell enrichment kits. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.06 µg per 1 × 10⁶ cells in 100 µL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance in each application. The product is supplied as a clear liquid and is stable at 2–8 °C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen.
