Anti-Ms CD8a, 53-6.7, PS, 100µg

A rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone 53-6.7, targets murine CD8a, a 32 - 34 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as a subunit of CD8. CD8 forms a disulfide-bonded dimer — either as an αβ heterodimer or an αα homodimer — and functions as a co-receptor for the T cell receptor during T cell activation by binding MHC Class I molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells. The CD8a chain specifically binds the alpha-3 domain of class I MHC. CD8 is expressed in the αβ form on a majority of thymocytes and a subset of mature peripheral cytotoxic T cells, and in the ββ form on γδ T cells, intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes, and dendritic cells. The antibody reportedly blocks antigen presentation via MHC class I and inhibits IL-2-dependent T cell responses, and has been verified for cell isolation and flow cytometry.

The reagent is available in a range of conjugations, including Alexa Fluor 488, APC, Biotin, FITC, PE, PerCP-Cy5.5, and unconjugated formats. Documented applications include cell isolation, CyTOF, flow cytometry, functional assays, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. The clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Mouse CD8+ T Cell Enrichment Kit and the EasySep™ Mouse CD8+ T Cell Isolation Kit.
