Anti-Ms CD62L, MEL-14, AZ, 25µg

A research-use laboratory reagent manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this antibody preparation contains the MEL-14 clone directed against mouse CD62L (L-Selectin or LECAM-1), a type I glycoprotein of approximately 74–95 kDa expressed on the surface of a majority of leukocytes. CD62L mediates leukocyte–endothelial cell interactions through its association with the ligands CD34, glyCAM-1, MAdCAM-1 and PSGL-1, and is involved in lymphocyte rolling on the vascular endothelium, trafficking of lymphocytes to the lymph nodes, and homing of lymphocytes and neutrophils to sites of inflammation.

Murine CD62L is expressed on most thymocytes, with the highest expression levels found on subsets of immunocompetent or dividing progenitor cells, and is also expressed on neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes and subsets of B, T and NK cells. The MEL-14 antibody has been shown to block migration of lymphocytes to lymph nodes and to inhibit leukocyte rolling, and may be used in combination with other cell-surface markers to distinguish naïve, memory and effector T cells. The antibody is of the IgG2a, kappa isotype.
