Anti-Ms CD49f, GoH3, AZ, 100tests

A rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa antibody (Clone GoH3) from STEMCELL Technologies specifically recognizes CD49f, also known as integrin α6, an ~150 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein. CD49f associates non-covalently with CD29 (integrin β1) or CD104 (integrin β4) to form the heterodimeric receptors VLA-6 and α6β4, which bind the extracellular matrix protein laminin. The molecule is a disulfide-linked dimer composed of an ~120 kDa heavy chain and an ~30 kDa membrane-bound light chain, with splice variants reported to alter the cytoplasmic domain.

CD49f is expressed on T cells, monocytes, platelets, placental trophoblasts, and epithelial and endothelial cells. It plays a role in cell adhesion and in signalling pathways that regulate T-cell activation and proliferation, as well as the differentiation and maintenance of stem cell pluripotency. It is regarded as the most important marker for selecting mouse mammary stem and progenitor cells. The GoH3 clone targets an extracellular epitope on CD49f and is reported to block integrin α6 function in vivo and to prevent integrin α6 binding to laminin in vitro.

Suitable applications include flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and functional assays. The antibody has been validated across multiple species, including baboon, marmoset, cynomolgus monkey, rhesus monkey, cat, chimpanzee, cow, dog, horse, human, mouse, pig, rabbit, and sheep.
