Anti-Ms CD49b, DX5, PE, 200µg

STEMCELL Technologies offers a rat monoclonal IgM reagent directed against murine CD49b (integrin α2), an approximately 150 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein that pairs non-covalently with CD29 (integrin β1) to form the VLA-2 receptor for extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, E-cadherin, fibronectin, and laminin. Clone DX5, of the IgM kappa isotype, was raised in LEW rats against IL-2-propagated NK1.1+ cells from C57BL/6 mice and is supplied conjugated to PE. CD49b is highly expressed on platelets and is found on the majority of NK cells, on NK-T cells, and on a small subset of CD8+ T cells; the reagent is particularly useful for identifying NK cells in mice that lack the NK1.1 antigen, and binding of the clone has not been observed to affect VLA-2 integrin function (DX5 binding is, however, blocked by clone HMα2).

Verified applications include cell separation (CellSep) and flow cytometry (FC), and the clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with the EasySep™ Mouse NK Cell Enrichment Kit. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL volume, with titration recommended for optimal performance in each application. The reagent is formulated as a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide and is at greater than 85% purity following conjugation with PE. Storage instructions are 2 - 8 °C when kept undiluted, with protection from prolonged exposure to light and a recommendation not to freeze; the product is chemically stable under those transport and storage conditions.
