Anti-Ms CD49b, DX5, FI, 50µg

A rat monoclonal IgM antibody from STEMCELL Technologies that recognizes mouse CD49b (integrin α2) and is conjugated to FITC for fluorescent detection. The antibody, clone DX5, binds an ~150 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein that pairs non-covalently with CD29 (integrin β1) to form the VLA-2 heterodimer, a receptor for extracellular matrix proteins including collagen, E-cadherin, fibronectin and laminin.

CD49b is highly expressed by platelets and is found on the majority of NK cells, on NKT cells and on a small subset of CD8+ T cells that expands following viral infection; it is also expressed by intestine, kidney, mammary gland and lung tissue. The DX5 clone is particularly useful for identifying NK cells in mice that lack the NK1.1 antigen, and its binding is blocked by the HMα2 antibody. The antibody was raised against IL-2-propagated NK1.1+ cells from C57BL/6 mice, purified by affinity chromatography and supplied free of unconjugated FITC in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide. It is verified for flow cytometry and is recommended at ≤ 1 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, with titration advised for optimal performance. The product should be stored undiluted at 2 - 8°C, protected from prolonged exposure to light, and not frozen.
