Anti-Ms CD49b, DX5, AD, 25µg

Manufactured by STEMCELL Technologies, this laboratory reagent is a rat-derived antibody of clone DX5 with the IgM, kappa isotype. It specifically binds mouse CD49b (integrin α2), an approximately 150 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein that pairs non-covalently with CD29 (integrin β1) to form the VLA-2 heterodimer — a receptor for extracellular matrix proteins including collagen, E-cadherin, fibronectin and laminin.

CD49b is highly expressed on platelets and is found on the majority of NK cells, on NKT cells, and on a small subset of CD8+ T cells, the latter increasing substantially following viral infection. The antigen is also expressed by several tissues, including intestine, kidney, mammary gland and lung. The DX5 clone is particularly useful for identifying NK cells in mice that lack the NK1.1 antigen, and its binding has not been observed to affect the function of the VLA-2 integrin; binding is, however, blocked by the HMα2 clone. The reagent is supplied conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488 and has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with the EasySep™ Mouse NK Cell Enrichment Kit. Suitable applications include flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and cell isolation, with primary utility in immunology research.

According to the manufacturer's safety data sheet, this laboratory reagent is a clear liquid classified as not a hazardous substance or mixture under the Globally Harmonized System, and is stable under recommended transport and storage conditions.
