STEMCELL Technologies supplies this biotin-conjugated monoclonal antibody for research use. Clone 30-F11 reacts with an extracellular epitope shared by all isoforms of mouse CD45, recognizing both alloantigens CD45.1 and CD45.2.

The target antigen CD45 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of most hematopoietic cells, with the exception of mature erythrocytes, platelets, and plasma cells; CD45 expression is lost during the differentiation of these cell types. As a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family, CD45 participates in immunoregulatory processes including cell activation, growth, differentiation, and oncogenic transformation. The large cytoplasmic portion of CD45 contains two tyrosine phosphatase domains, one enzymatically active, which modulate the function of intracellular substrates such as the Src kinases Lck and Fyn. Alternative splicing of three exons (4, 5, and 6) encoding the extracellular RA, RB, and RC polypeptide sequences gives rise to up to eight isoforms with molecular masses in the range of 180 - 240 kDa.

The product is intended for flow cytometry and, according to the manufacturer's safety documentation, is classified as not a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The antibody is of rat origin and is of the IgG2b, kappa isotype.
