Anti-Ms CD44, IM7, FI, 50µg

This FITC-conjugated monoclonal antibody is supplied by STEMCELL Technologies as a laboratory reagent for research use. Clone IM7 reacts with CD44 (Ly-24), described in the product literature as an ~80 - 95 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.

According to the manufacturer, CD44 is expressed on the surface of many cell types, including leukocytes, hepatocytes, endothelial, epithelial, and mesenchymal cells. Expression levels increase upon activation of T and B cells, and memory cells exhibit a CD44[High] phenotype. The antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope found on all isoforms of CD44 and on both murine allotypes, and CD44 itself is reported to bind ligands such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, fibronectin, growth factors and metalloproteinases, modulating processes such as lymphocyte activation, recirculation and homing, leukocyte rolling and aggregation, hematopoiesis, and tumor metastasis.

The material is presented as a clear liquid and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) or under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).
