Anti-Ms CD4, RM4-5, PS, 100µg

This rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa antibody, supplied by STEMCELL Technologies, is clone RM4-5 and targets mouse CD4, an approximately 55 kDa single-chain type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and containing four extracellular Ig-like domains. CD4 is expressed at relatively high levels by most thymocytes and by a subpopulation of T helper/inducer cells, and at lower levels on dendritic cells; in the mouse it is not expressed by monocytes or macrophages. The antigen binds a non-polymorphic region of MHC class II and acts as a co-receptor to the T cell receptor in MHC II-restricted antigen recognition, with its intracellular domain interacting with cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases such as Lck.

The antibody is validated for flow cytometry (FC), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IH), and is also reported for cell isolation, CyTOF, functional assays, immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blot. PerCP-Cy5.5 is among the available conjugates, alongside Alexa Fluor 488, APC, biotin, FITC, PE, and unconjugated formats. Binding of the RM4-5 clone to CD4 has been shown to inhibit ligand binding in vitro, and its binding can be blocked by the GK1.5 antibody; the clone has also been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep mouse CD4+ T cell kits.
