Anti-Ms CD4 , RM4-5, PE, 200µg

A rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone RM4-5, conjugated to PE, supplied as a laboratory reagent. The antibody targets mouse CD4, an ~55 kDa single-chain type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily (Gene ID 12504) that contains four extracellular Ig-like domains.

CD4 is expressed at relatively high levels by most thymocytes and a subpopulation of T cells (T-helper/inducer cells), and at lower levels on dendritic cells; in the mouse it is not expressed by monocytes/macrophages. Clone RM4-5 is reported as suitable for flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry, with additional listed applications including immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation, Western blot, cell separation, CyTOF and functional assays. The manufacturer's flow cytometry data were generated on C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes.

CD4 binds a non-polymorphic region of MHC II and acts as a co-receptor to the T cell receptor in MHC II-restricted antigen recognition, enhancing the avidity of the TCR/MHC II-antigen interaction and amplifying downstream signalling through cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases such as Lck. Binding of clone RM4-5 has been reported to inhibit ligand binding in vitro, and can itself be blocked by the clone GK1.5 antibody. The product is a clear liquid and is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to GHS.
