Anti-Ms CD4, RM4-5, BT, 500µg

This anti-mouse CD4 antibody, clone RM4-5, is a biotin-conjugated reagent supplied by STEMCELL Technologies. It is a rat monoclonal antibody of the IgG2a, kappa isotype that reacts with mouse CD4, an approximately 55 kDa single-chain type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily containing four extracellular Ig-like domains (Gene ID 12504).

CD4 is expressed at relatively high levels by most thymocytes and a subpopulation of T cells (T-helper/inducer cells), and at lower levels on dendritic cells; in the mouse, CD4 is not expressed by monocytes/macrophages. Binding of the RM4-5 antibody to CD4 inhibits ligand binding in vitro, and this binding can be blocked by the clone GK1.5 antibody. CD4 acts as a co-receptor to the T cell receptor (TCR) in MHC II-restricted antigen recognition by enhancing the avidity of the association between the TCR and the MHC II-antigen complex, and amplifies signals from the TCR through the interaction of its intracellular domain with cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases such as Lck. The RM4-5 clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep kits, including the EasySep Mouse CD4+ T Cell Enrichment Kit and the EasySep Mouse CD4+ T Cell Isolation Kit.

According to the manufacturer, the RM4-5 clone may be used in flow cytometry (FC), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IH). Additional listed applications include cell isolation, CyTOF, functional assays, immunocytochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and Western blot.
