Anti-Ms CD4, RM4-5, AD, 100µg

A rat monoclonal IgG2a, kappa antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, this reagent targets mouse CD4, an ~55 kDa single-chain type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily containing four extracellular Ig-like domains. CD4 is expressed at relatively high levels by most thymocytes and a subpopulation of T cells (T-helper/inducer cells), and at lower levels on dendritic cells; in the mouse, CD4 is not expressed by monocytes/macrophages. The product is supplied as a clear liquid and is classified for research use only, not intended for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

CD4 binds to a non-polymorphic region of MHC II and acts as a co-receptor to the T cell receptor (TCR) in MHC II-restricted antigen recognition, enhancing the avidity of the association between the TCR and the MHC II-antigen complex. CD4 also functions to amplify signals from the TCR to the cytoplasm through interaction of its intracellular domain with cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases such as Lck. Clone RM4-5 has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ kits, including the EasySep™ Mouse CD4+ T Cell Enrichment Kit and EasySep™ Mouse CD4+ T Cell Isolation Kit. Binding of the RM4-5 antibody to CD4 inhibits ligand binding in vitro, and its binding can be blocked by the clone GK1.5 antibody.

Clone RM4-5 may be used in flow cytometry (FC), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IH); additional listed applications include immunocytochemistry, Western blot, immunoprecipitation, cell separation, CyTOF, and functional assays. Under the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), the chemical is not considered hazardous, and the product contains no substances which at their given concentration are considered to be hazardous to health. Recommended storage is to keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place.
