Anti-Ms CD4, RM4-4, PE, 200µg

A PE-conjugated rat monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone RM4-4 targets mouse CD4, an ~55 kDa single-chain type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with four extracellular Ig-like domains. The antibody is verified for flow cytometry, including analysis of C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes, and is also suitable for functional assays. It is of the IgG2b, kappa isotype.

In the mouse, CD4 is expressed at relatively high levels by most thymocytes and a subpopulation of T cells (T-helper/inducer cells), and at lower levels on dendritic cells; it is not expressed by monocytes/macrophages. CD4 binds to a non-polymorphic region of MHC II and acts as a co-receptor to the TCR in MHC II-restricted antigen recognition, enhancing the avidity of the association between the TCR and the MHC II-antigen complex. It also amplifies TCR signals through the interaction of its intracellular domain with cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases such as Lck.

Binding of the RM4-4 antibody does not block binding of antibody clones RM4-5 or GK1.5. The reagent supports immunomagnetic workflows for the positive selection of mouse CD4+ cells and the negative isolation of untouched mouse CD4+ T cells.
