Anti-Ms CD4, RM4-4, BT, 100µg

From STEMCELL Technologies, this is a biotin-conjugated rat monoclonal antibody specific for mouse CD4, clone RM4-4, with IgG2b kappa isotype. It was raised against BALB/c mouse thymocytes and purified by affinity chromatography before conjugation with biotin under optimal conditions. The reagent is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin.

The antibody is verified for flow cytometry and reported for the same application. The suggested use is ≤ 0.015 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance. It has been validated for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep™ Mouse CD4+ T Cell Isolation Kit and EasySep™ Mouse CD4 Positive Selection Kit II. The product is stable at 2 - 8 °C when stored undiluted and should not be frozen; the Safety Data Sheet classifies it as not a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

CD4 is an ~55 kDa single-chain type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, with four extracellular Ig-like domains. It is expressed at relatively high levels by most thymocytes and a subpopulation of T-helper/inducer cells, and at lower levels on dendritic cells, but is not expressed by mouse monocytes/macrophages. CD4 binds a non-polymorphic region of MHC II and acts as a co-receptor to the T cell receptor. Binding of the RM4-4 antibody does not block binding of clones RM4-5 or GK1.5.
