Anti-Ms CD25, PC61.5, PS, 25µg

A rat monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, Clone PC61.5, targets murine CD25, the low-affinity interleukin-2 receptor α chain (IL-2Rα). CD25 is an approximately 55 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on T and B cell progenitors, activated (but not resting) T and B cells, regulatory T (Treg) cells, dendritic cells, and activated monocytes and macrophages. Co-expression of CD25 with CD4 and FOXP3 is considered a phenotypic signature for Treg cells.

The reagent is intended for flow cytometry and supports immunomagnetic positive selection of mouse CD25+ Tregs from splenocytes or other single-cell suspensions, as well as immunomagnetic negative isolation of untouched mouse T cells. The manufacturer notes that the epitope recognised by Clone PC61.5 is distinct from the IL-2 binding site and from the epitopes recognised by the alternative anti-CD25 clones 7D4 and 3C7. Binding of PC61.5 inhibits IL-2 binding to both the low- and high-affinity receptors, which may result in inhibition of IL-2-dependent proliferation.
