Description

A FITC-conjugated rat monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone 1D3 reacts with mouse CD19, an ~95 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the surface of B cells throughout all stages of development, from early pre-B cells to plasma cells. Expression is down-regulated but persists in terminally differentiated plasma cells, and CD19 is also found on follicular dendritic cells. By associating with CD21 and CD81, CD19 functions as a co-receptor for the B cell receptor and is involved in B cell activation and differentiation. The antibody is of the IgG2a, kappa isotype and was raised in the rat (LEW) strain using a recombinant mouse CD19-transfected cell line as immunogen.

The antibody has been purified by affinity chromatography and conjugated with FITC under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated FITC. It is supplied as a clear liquid formulated in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin. Verified and reported applications are limited to flow cytometry, and this clone has been verified for purity assessments of cells isolated with EasySep kits, including the EasySep Mouse B Cell Isolation Kit. For flow cytometry, the suggested use is ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 × 10^6 cells in 100 μL, and titration is recommended for optimal performance in each application.

The product is stable at 2 – 8 °C when stored undiluted; it should not be frozen and should be protected from prolonged exposure to light. Clone 1D3 recognizes the same epitope as clone 6D5 in cross-competition assays. According to its safety data sheet, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance or mixture according to the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) or the 2012 OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).
