Description

This unconjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies, clone UC10-4F10-11, is raised in Armenian hamster and recognizes an extracellular epitope on mouse CD152 (CTLA-4), also referred to as Cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 and Ly-56 (Gene ID: 12477). CD152 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on activated T and B cells and thymocytes. It comprises a disulfide-linked homodimer of approximately 35 kDa subunits and belongs to the immunoglobulin protein superfamily.

CD152 functions as an antagonistic homolog of CD28 by binding the co-stimulatory ligands CD80 and CD86, thereby inhibiting CD28-mediated stimulation during the early stages of T cell expansion and contributing to the suppressor function of T regulatory cells. The antibody is of the IgG1, kappa isotype and was generated against a mouse CTLA-4 IgG2a fusion protein. It is supplied unconjugated in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide, and was purified by affinity chromatography.

Flow cytometry is a verified application, and functional assay and immunoprecipitation are also reported. For flow cytometry, a suggested use is ≤ 0.2 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, with titration recommended for optimal performance in each application. The product is stable at 2 - 8 °C when stored undiluted; do not freeze, and use before the expiry date on the label. It is intended for research use only and is not for human or animal diagnostic or therapeutic uses unless otherwise stated.
