Description

This PE-conjugated monoclonal antibody from STEMCELL Technologies targets mouse CD150, also known as SLAM (signaling lymphocyte activation molecule) or IPO-3, an approximately 75 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein that acts as a cell adhesion molecule and coreceptor. The reagent is a rat (LEW) IgG2a, lambda antibody, Clone TC15-12F12.2, raised against a mouse SLAM-human IgG1 fusion protein and purified by affinity chromatography before conjugation with PE under optimal conditions; the solution is free of unconjugated PE and unconjugated antibody.

Verified for flow cytometry (FC), the product is formulated in a phosphate-buffered solution at pH 7.2 containing 0.09% sodium azide. The suggested use for flow cytometry is ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL, with titration advised to determine optimal performance for each application. The product is stable at 2 - 8°C when stored undiluted, should not be frozen, and must be protected from prolonged exposure to light.

CD150 is differentially expressed by T cells, immature thymocytes, B cells, dendritic cells, macrophages, and endothelial cells, with expression rapidly induced upon activation of T cells, B cells, and dendritic cells and maintained on Th1 but not Th2 clones. CD150-mediated co-stimulation of TCR-activated T cells enhances IFN-γ production by Th1 cells, and the antibody is described as a useful marker for multipotent hematopoietic stem cells when used in concert with markers such as CD48 and CD41.
