Description

From STEMCELL Technologies, this is a rat monoclonal IgG2a, lambda antibody (Clone TC15-12F12.2) specific for mouse CD150, also known as signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM) or IPO-3. CD150 is an approximately 75 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein that plays multiple roles in the immune response by serving as a cell adhesion molecule and/or coreceptor, and is differentially expressed by T cells, immature thymocytes, B cells, dendritic cells, macrophages, and endothelial cells depending on cell type and activation status.

The antibody is conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488 and supplied in a phosphate-buffered solution (pH 7.2) containing 0.09% sodium azide, purified by affinity chromatography, and described as free of unconjugated Alexa Fluor® 488. It was raised in the rat (LEW) strain against a mouse SLAM-human IgG1 fusion protein. Manufacturer-presented flow cytometry data show specific labeling of C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes and bone marrow cells by this clone.

Verified and reported applications are limited to flow cytometry (FC), with a suggested use of ≤ 0.25 μg per 1 x 10^6 cells in 100 μL. CD150 expression is rapidly induced upon activation of T cells, B cells, and dendritic cells, with synthesis maintained on Th1 but not Th2 clones, and the marker is widely used alongside CD48 and CD41 to identify multipotent hematopoietic stem cells; it is not expressed on non-multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells. The product should be stored at 2–8 °C, not frozen, and protected from prolonged exposure to light.
