Description

STEMCELL Technologies supplies this Anti-Mouse CD150 antibody, Clone TC15-12F12.2, raised in hamster and rat hosts with an IgG2a, lambda isotype. The antibody reacts with CD150, also known as signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM), an approximately 75 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein described as a cell adhesion molecule and/or coreceptor with multiple roles in the immune response.

According to the manufacturer, CD150 is differentially expressed by T cells, immature thymocytes, B cells, dendritic cells, macrophages and endothelial cells, with expression patterns varying by cell type and activation status. Expression is rapidly induced upon activation of T cells, B cells and dendritic cells, and synthesis by T cells is maintained on Th1 but not Th2 clones. CD150-mediated co-stimulation of TCR-activated T cells enhances IFN-γ production by Th1 cells, a response that can be augmented by binding of the TC15-12F12.2 antibody.

CD150 is reported to mediate signal transduction by associating with the intracellular protein tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2 and plays a role in hematopoietic cell development. It serves as a useful marker for multipotent hematopoietic stem cells when used in combination with markers such as CD48 and CD41, and is not expressed on non-multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells. Conjugations referenced in the source data include Alexa Fluor 488, APC, Biotin, PE, PE-Cyanine7, and unconjugated formats. Documented applications include flow cytometry, functional assays, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation.
